Components reach Johan Sverdrup jacket construction site

The first of two consignments of pile clusters and flotation tanks has arrived at Kvaerner’s yard at Verdal.

VERDAL, Norway – The first of two consignments of pile clusters and flotation tanks has arrived at Kvaerner’s yard at Verdal, for installation on the steel jacket for the Johan Sverdrup riser platform.

Total weight is 7,000 metric tons.

Of the 43 steel jackets Kvaerner has built for offshore platforms over the past 43 years, this will be the largest and most complex to construct to date, the company said.
