US Gulf of Mexico rig count stays steady at 20

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remains at 20, unchanged over the past week.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remains at 20, unchanged over the past week according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Sep. 23, 2016. That number is down by 11 year-over-year.

The overall USoffshore drilling rig count mirrored the US GoM rig count, which also remained unchanged at 20. That metric is down by 13 year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by five week-over-week at 511, with oil rigs up by two to 418, gas rigs up by three to 92, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down by 327 rigs, with oil rigs down by 223, gas rigs down 105, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.
