MacGregor to equip seven Middle East OSVs

MacGregor has won comprehensive equipment package contracts for seven specialist offshore support vessels that will operate in the Middle East.

HELSINKI, Finland -MacGregor has won comprehensive equipment package contracts for a variety of seven specialist offshore support vessels (OSV) that will operate in the Middle East. The company, which is part of Cargotec Corp., will deliver deck cranes and a range of deck machinery to each vessel. The order is booked into its 3Q order intake.

MacGregor will deliver a deck crane anddeck machinery, shark-jaws, and towing pins to two 58-m (190-ft) anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels; deck machinery and a deck crane to one 45-m (147-ft) work utility vessel; and a deck crane and deck machinery to four 45-m (147-ft) maintenance utility vessels. These equipment deliveries are planned for 1Q 2017.

Thevessels will be built in China for an unnamed provider of marine logistics services in Middle East. They are planned for delivery in 3Q 2017 and will support the operations of a Middle Eastern national oil company in the Arabian Gulf under a firm five-year charter with a two-year extension option.
