First oil flows from Enping 18-1 offshore China

CNOOC has started production from the Enping 18-1 oilfield in the South China Sea.

HONG KONG --CNOOC has started production from the Enping 18-1 oilfield in the South China Sea.

The field is located in thePearl River Mouth basin, in an average water depth of around 90 m (295 ft).

Development exploits existing facilities at Enping 24-2 oilfield and also ties in the Enping 23-1, Enping 23-2, and Enping 23-7 oilfields.

Currently three wells are online, producing around 2,010 b/d. Within a year,production should reach the designed peak of roughly 11,800 b/d.

CNOOC operates with a 100% interest.
