China gas line to cross Amur River

Senior officials from Gazprom and CNPC have signed an EPC contract to construct a crossing under the Amur River within the cross-border section of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.

HANGZHOU, China – Senior officials from Gazprom and CNPC have signed an EPC contract to construct a crossing under the Amur River within the cross-border section of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.

The crossing will be built using shield tunnelling methods. China Petroleum Pipeline, CNPC’s pipe-building subsidiary, is the designated contractor.

In 2014, the two companies signed a sales and purchase agreement under for supplies of Russian gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline.

Under the 30-year agreement, China will receive 38 bcm/yr.
