HOUSTON –FMC Technologies has installed and tested its Annulus Monitoring System (AMS) in a well offshore Malaysia owned by Petronas.
The AMS is a wireless communication system that provides independent condition-monitoring within a subsea wellhead from the onset ofdrilling and throughout the life of the well. It is also said to deliver information about annular fluid and components during critical phases of well installation and start-up. The system also provides real-time data collection and feedback, which could allow operators to complete their drilling and abandonment operations ahead of schedule, the company said.
