US Gulf of Mexico rig count remains at 17

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remains unchanged at 17 over the past week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Aug. 12, 2016.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remains unchanged at 17 over the past week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Aug. 12, 2016. That number is down by 17 year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the US GoM rig count, which was also unchanged at 17. That metric is down by 18 year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 17 week-over-week at 481, with oil rigs up by 15 to 396, gas rigs up by two to 83, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at two.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down by 403 rigs, with oil rigs down by 276, gas rigs down 128, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.
