PSA approves ExxonMobil’s North Sea intervention plans

ExxonMobil has Petroleum Safety Authority Norway’s consent for light well intervention at the Sigyn field in the North Sea.

OSLO, NorwayExxonMobil has Petroleum Safety Authority Norway’s consent for light well intervention at the Sigyn field in the North Sea.

Sigyn, in 70 m (230 ft) of water in production license 072, contains gas, condensate, and light oil. The field was developed using a subsea template and came onstream in 2002.

The well stream is transported to the Statoil-operated Sleipner A facility, 12 km (7.5 mi) northwest of the template.

ExxonMobil plans to use either the mobile drilling vesselsIsland Frontier or Island Wellserver for the interventions with activities set to start this month and continue to year-end or possibly into 2017.
