PJV to provide exotic-alloy valves for North Sea Culzean platforms

PJ Valves has won a contract to supply more than 1,000 valves to Maersk Oil’s Culzean field development in the UK central North Sea.

HERTFORD, UK – PJ Valves (PJV) has won a contract to supply more than 1,000 valves to Maersk Oil’s Culzean field development in the UK central North Sea.

The company will manufacture forged cast gate globe and check valves in super duplex and super alloys for thewellhead, living, and central processing platforms.

In addition, it will supply wafer check valves to prevent fluid backflow on these facilities.

PJV says it secured the contract because of itsNorth Sea experience and its specialist Italian manufacturing capabilities, said to comply with the project’s quality standards.

The valves are expected to be delivered in 2017. PJV has also been awarded contracts for the compressor, metering, and water treatment packages.

At peakCulzean will produce 400-500 MMcf/d, providing around 5% of the UK’s total gas consumption by 2020.
