LONDON – Premier Oil has contracted GE Oil & Gas subsidiary, PT. VetcoGray Indonesia to support the shutdown of four subsea wells serving the Anoa fieldoffshore Indonesia.
The trees were among the first that GE installed in theAsia/Pacific region in the 1990s.
GE Oil & Gas will prepare the subsea production trees for removal; assist removal of flowlines and production umbilicals; perform installation of intervention hot stab assemblies; and provide annulus and flowline flanges.
Once the wells have been made ready for decommissioning, the tree caps, subsea trees and tubing hangers will be removed, the cement plugs set and the seabed cleared to comply with local regulations.
Ian Coull, regional executive leader for Subsea Systems & Drilling at GE Oil & Gas, said: “Our expertise will be key in facilitating the safe removal of hardware from the seabed, with minimal contamination or disturbance to the environment.”
Prior to starting the first phase of work, GE Oil & Gas will conduct interface testing with customer-supplied tooling and newly-manufactured tools, ensuring the trees are ROV-enabled for the wider decommissioning campaign, due to start in 2Q 2017.
