MOSCOW – Gazpromneft Shelf has brought two more producers and two more injectors onstream at the Prirazlomnoye field in the Pechora Sea offshore northern Russia.

Daily production on thePrirazlomnaya ice-resistant offshore platform now exceeds 6,000 metric tons (6,614 tons).

Gazprom Bureniye LLC drilled the four wells. EventuallyGazprom Neft aims to commission 32 wells – the first producer was completed in December 2013.

The platform’s rig is designed to prevent any egress of drilling waste into the sea. The project is being implemented on the basis of “zero emissions,” with waste either re-injected into the subsurface strata or transported onshore for further recycling.

All wellheads are within the platform, the base of which then acts as a buffer between the well and the open sea. In addition, all the wells are equipped to prevent any uncontrolled emission of oil or gas and can, if necessary, be hermetically sealed within 10 seconds.

Prirazlomnoye, 60 km (37 mi) offshore remains the sole oil field in production on the Russian Arctic Shelf. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 70 MM metric tons.
