OSLO, Norway – Wintershall has approval from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for an exploratory well in the North Sea.
The semisubmersibleBorgland Dolphin will spud well 35/11-20 A in license PL 248 F, 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Florø and 20 km (12.4 mi) northwest of the Fram field, after completing its current wildcat for Tullow Oil in PL 776.
This will be the second well on the license since it was awarded in mid-1999.
