DUBAI, UAEMarsol International has supported Oman Oil Co. Exploration & Production’s (OOCEP) first shipment of crude oil from the Musandam gas plant.

The contractor was responsible for all marine and offshore activities related to the tanker loading via the single point mooring (SPM) offshore marine terminal, including marine works, vessels, equipment, and manpower.

OOCEP safely exported 300,000 bbl of crude oil under the operation, which were fully processed at the Musandam gas plant on May 4.

Mike Young, Marsol’s director, said: “Our tanker operations and our product transfer services ensure safe and efficient mooring and unmooring at the SPM and are a crucial element of our asset integrity management service.”

The Musandam gas plant is on the west coast of the Musandam peninsula. It has a daily processing capacity of up to 20,000 bbl of crude; 45 MMcf of gas; and 75 metric tons (82.7 tons) of LPG.
