Aqualis to assist Ichthys FPSO installation offshore Western Australia

Aqualis Offshore has signed a contract to provide position keeping services for the installation of the Ichthys LNG project FPSO.

OSLO, Norway – Marine and offshore engineering consultancy Aqualis Offshore has signed a contract to provide position keeping services for the installation of the Ichthys LNG project FPSO.

Under the contract, Aqualis Offshore will manage the position keeping procedure and provide position keeping masters during the offshore operations. Contract value is undisclosed.

The company will provide the services as a sub-supplier to POSH Terasea Offshore Pte Ltd., who will manage the towage of the FPSO from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering’s Okpo yard in South Korea to the Ichthys field offshore Australia, and the station keeping for the mooring process at the field. Its Singapore office will manage and execute the project.

The Ichthys FPSO, which will be 336 m (1,102 ft) long, will be permanently moored on a non-disconnectable turret for the life of the project, about 3.5 km (2.2 mi) from the field’scentral processing facility (CPF). INPEX is the operator of the Ichthys LNG project.

Earlier the company won the contract to provide position keeping services for the installation of the Ichthys LNG project CPF.
