Statoil contracts Technip for North Sea Oseberg umbilical

Statoil has commissioned Technip Umbilicals to provide services for the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 field development in the Norwegian North Sea.

PARISStatoil has commissioned Technip Umbilicals to provide services for the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 field development in the Norwegian North Sea.

The field is located 8 km (4.9 mi) northwest of the Oseberg field center at block 30/9-30/6, in a water depth of 100 m (328 ft).

Technip’s scope covers project management, engineering, and manufacture of more than 9 km (5.6 mi) of static steel tube umbilical, which will include a large-bore integrated service line and multiple power cables.

The company’s factory in Newcastle, northeast England, will manufacture the equipment, which is scheduled to be completed during the first half of 2017.
