HOUSTON– At this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), Subsea 7 is demonstrating how subsea technology is advancing to address today’s challenges.

The company is presenting 11 technical papers at the conference on step-change technologies including:

  • Electrically heat traced flowlines. A key challenge for new subsea developments is maintaining the right temperature within the pipeline infrastructure to reduce the risk of blockage from hydrates or wax. Advances in heated pipe technologies, such as the electrically heat traced flowline, can provide a solution to managing flow assurance, overcoming the challenges of longer distance tiebacks and greater water depths, in a cost-effective way.
  • Pipeline bundle solution. For the exploration of high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) fields, pipeline bundles provide the necessary insulation and integrity for transporting hydrocarbons at high temperatures.

Subsea 7’s Vice President of Technology Thomas Sunde said: “At OTC 2016, Subsea 7 is demonstrating technologies that reduce cost, enhance production, and extend field life. Our strategic technology program includes a wide range of solutions for clients and different field characteristics.”

Subsea 7 is exhibiting at booth #1325.
