KARLSKRONA, Sweden – Roxtec is supplying cable and pipe transits to Apply Emtunga’s Arendal Yard in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Apply Emtunga is using this equipment in the offshore accommodation modules it is building for the Martin Linge and ETAP projects in the North Sea.

Martin Linge’s nine-storey living quarters will be delivered as a 2,000-ton integrated accommodation module. It has three A60 fire rated divisions and an H60 fire rated bulkhead as a partition toward the production and processing areas.

The complex also contains offices and meeting areas, cabins, and facilities such as a hospital, kitchen, dining room, and a gym.

Mattias Öhrn, piping engineer at Apply Emtunga, said: “We use Roxtec Sleev-it fire penetration seals for all plastic pipes with drinking water and hot water.”

Roxtec was the sole supplier, he added, that could deliver the required fire protection certificates. “Everything in this project must have a minimum lifetime of 30 years.”

The living quarters for BP’s ETAP project will be delivered as various smaller units for installation on the platform offshore eastern Scotland.

In this case, the fire rated plastic pipe penetration seals are Roxtec RS PPS/S.
