Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved the first wildcat in North Sea production license 636, operated by Engie E&P Norge.

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved the first wildcat in North Sea production license 636, operated by Engie E&P Norge.

The semisubmersibleTransocean Arctic should spud well 36/7-4 in mid-June on the Cara prospect in 348 m (1,142 ft) of water, west of Florø and 6 km (3.7 mi) northeast of the company’s Gjøa field infrastructure.

Drilling is expected to last 66 days.
