DeepOcean to remove North Sea Varg structures

Repsol has contracted DeepOcean to provide engineering, procurement, removal, and disposal of the Varg field subsea facilities in the Norwegian North Sea.

HAUGESUND, NorwayRepsol has contracted DeepOcean to provide engineering, procurement, removal, and disposal of the Varg field subsea facilities in the Norwegian North Sea.

The scope of work covers subsea pre-decommissioning surveys; recovery ofFPSO mooring lines, anchor piles, risers, midwater-arch buoy and subsea structures; and onshore disposal and recycling of the recovered items.

DeepOcean will deploy its new construction vesselEdda Freya, due to join the fleet soon, for the program.

Offshore Ghana, Tullow Oil has awarded the company a three-year contract with options for extensions, to provide a light construction vessel.

In mid-March, DeepOcean’s DP-2 ROV/construction vesselDina Star started offshore activities. The work scope includes inspection, maintenance and repair, surveys and subsea construction to support Tullow’s deepwater Jubilee and TEN developments.
