LONDON – Endeavor Energy has appointed BMT Asia Pacific (BMT) as owners engineer and lead design consultant for development of LNG storage and re-gasification facilities for the Songon Gas-to-Power project in Côte d’Ivoire.

This will comprise combined cycle gas to power generation with an integrated fuel solution, and will feature a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

Previously the two parties cooperated on developing Africa’s first LNG import terminal in Ghana viaGE’s Ghana 1000 Power Project.

For Songon, BMT will perform front-end engineering and design, infrastructure design, and optimization studies for the supply of gas from the LNG FSRU via subsea infrastructure to the onshore gas turbines outside Abidjan.

The project is expected to add around 375 MW to Côte d’Ivoire’s national grid.
