Atwood Orca completes Manora wells, prepares to spud Sri Trang-1 offshore Thailand

WEST PERTH, AustraliaMubadala Petroleum says drilling has been completed of two further wells for the Manora oil field in the northern Gulf of Thailand.

According to partnerTap Oil, the Atwood Orca drilled wells MNA-15 and MNA-16 on the field’s east fault block to respective TDs of 2,566 m (8,418 ft) and 2,998 m (9,836 ft) within 38 days. Both were fitted with electric submersible pumps (ESPs).

MNA-15, which encountered 44 m (144 ft) of oil pay in three separate reservoirs, will be completed as a four-zone selective completion produced by an ESP. It should come onstream shortly.

MNA-16, which intersected 37 m (121 ft) of oil pay in four separate reservoirs, will feature a six-zone selective completion produced by an ESP. Production should begin early next month.

In mid-May,Atwood Orca should spud the Sri Trang-1 exploration well in the Reservation Area of the G1/48 concession for the same partners.
