US Gulf of Mexico rig count jumps up to 28

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has increased to 28, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Mar. 24, 2016.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has increased to 28, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Mar. 24, 2016.

That number is an increase of one compared to the company’sweekly rig count of Mar. 18, 2016, and is down six rigs year over year.

The company also reported that the overall US rig count was down by 12 rigs from last week to 464, with oil rigs down by 15 to 372, and gas rigs up by three to 92.

The overall US rig count is down 584 rigs from last year at 1,048, with oil rigs down 441, gas rigs down 141, and miscellaneous rigs down by two.
