Fugro to support Western Isles drilling program

Dana Petroleum (E&P) Ltd. has contracted Fugro to supply ROV drilling support services on board the Ocean Guardian MODU at the Western Isles development in the UK northern North Sea.

ABERDEEN, UK– Dana Petroleum (E&P) Ltd. has contracted Fugro to supply ROV drilling support services on board the Ocean Guardian MODU at the Western Isles development in the UK northern North Sea.

Operating one of its fleet of FCV 600 ROVs, the scope of work covers standard drilling support, which begins this month, and intervention tooling support, with all ROV tooling designed and supplied by Fugro. This ensures 100% compatibility with the FCV 600 class of ROV and American Petroleum Institute tooling standard 17D.

Dana and partner CIECO are developing the Harris and Barra oil fields for the project, 160 km (99.4 mi) east of the Shetlands and 12 km (7.4 mi) west of the Tern production complex, via five production and four water injection wells tied back to a newbuild FPSO with oil exported via shuttle tankers.
