STOCKHOLM, Sweden–Lundin Petroleum has completed wildcat well 10/4-1, which was dry. The exploration well 10/4-1 was targeting the Zeppelin prospect.
The primary objective of the well was to prove the presence of hydrocarbons in sandstones of the Middle to late Jurassic Vestland Group. It encountered a sandy reservoir in the Vestland Group, but without hydrocarbon shows.
The well was drilled by theBorgland Dolphin to a total vertical depth of 2,384 m (7,822 ft) subsea. The well is being P&A’d as a dry well.
Zeppelin was drilled in PL734, about 35 km (22 mi) southeast of the Yme field in the southern North Sea.
Wintershall Norge AS is the operator, holding a 40% working interest. Lundin Norway and Centrica Resources AS are partners in PL734 holding a combined 60% stake.
