PERTH, Australia – Woodside Petroleum says the first of two subsea installation campaigns has started for the Phase 1 Xena field development offshore Western Australia.
First gas through the Pluto LNG facilities is expected to follow later this year.
Woodside has awarded main contracts for the A$1.2-billion ($890-million)Persephone development, part of the North West Shelf project, which it expects to start up in early 2018.
Installation has been completed of additional living quarters for the Goodwyn A platform for the A$2.5-billion ($1.9-billion) Greater Western Flank Phase 1 project. Topsides modifications continue – start-up is scheduled for early 2016.
Front-end engineering design (FEED) is in progress for theGreater Western Flank Phase 2 project ahead of a final investment decision later this year.
Offshore New Zealand, Woodside says the Vulcan 3D seismic survey has been completed in the Taranaki basin, while the Toroa 3D seismic survey in the Great South basin should be completed during the current quarter.
Data from these surveys will be processed, analysed, and interpreted over the next few months.
In Morocco, Woodside says it has progressed environmental approvals for 2D seismic acquisition planned for the Rabat Ultra Deep Offshore area.
Offshore Myanmar, the company expects seismic surveying to start over its blocks late this year. Planning continues for drilling of an exploration well in block A-6 during 4Q.
In Tanzania, the operator completed a transition zone 2D seismic survey over the Lake Tanganyika South block, supplementing 2D data acquired during the previous quarter.
All the data sets are being processed and should undergo interpretation soon.
