Technip to connect PFLNG1 to Kanowit platform

PARIS – Petronas Carigali has awarded Technip a subsea tie-in/modification contract offshore East Malaysia.

This involves tie-in of thePFLNG1 floating LNG vessel to the KAKG-A platform central processing platform that serves the Kanowit field, 200 km (124 mi) offshore Bintulu, in 80 m (262 ft) of water.

Technip’s center will manage the operation, which involves laying a 3.2-km (1.99-mi) flexible flowline between the platform and thePFLNG1 riser and performing modification and tie-in works at KAKG-A.

Asiaflex Products in Tanjung Langsat, Johor, will manufacture the flowline, with the Deep Orient handling the installation, due to be completed in late 2015.

PFLNG1
is Petronas’ first FLNG vessel. It is designed to produce 1.2 MM metric tons/yr (1.32 MM tons/yr) of LNG.
