LUXEMBOURGSubsea 7, KBR and its subsidiary Granherne have agreed to jointly provide concept and front-end engineering and design (FEED) services to the offshore oil and gas industry.

The alliance will focus on presenting the most cost-effective solutions, Subsea 7 claims, in the early concept evaluation phase of a field development.

KBR’s and Granherne’s specialties are field development planning, concept evaluation and FEED, while Subsea 7’s focus is subsea project management and engineering.

Granherne will support Subsea 7 on concept and FEED studies, while Subsea 7 will support Granherne with subsea engineering and technology.

The alliance plans to operate globally using the companies’ existing resources, and aim to work together also in the execution phase of offshore projects.

However, the decision to collaborate will be on a project-by-project basis.
