DUBAI, UAE – Marsol International has introduced an emergency pipeline repair service for shallow-water intertidal zones.

The company has developed this service over the past six years to help clients accessing areas not normally serviced from sea or shore.

It has worked with various partners to develop multi-purpose tools and equipment, such as Rhino craft and Versadock, based on its experience in developing diver-operated equipment for use subsea and in the intertidal zone, where difficulties include shifting sands and tides.

For intertidal zone applications, the company’s offshore terminal and marine workforce will locate and stabilize the ground to access damaged pipelines and conduct the necessary repair – likely scenarios include pipeline ruptures, pin-hole leaks, dents and buckles, internal and external pipeline pitting, and problems due to corrosion.

The service can be tailored according to the nature of the pipeline failure or damage, the pipeline size and specification, and the site location. Marsol can supply multi-purpose amphibious units, amphibious excavators, modular trench shoring systems and all-terrain/amphibious personnel carriers.
