MELBOURNE, Australia – OMV New Zealand has completed the offshore Taranaki Maari Growth project, with the final well on production.
According to partnerCue Energy, the MR10 well is flowing around 2,000 b/d of oil, lifting output from Maari to 16,500 b/d.
This should rise to 20,000 b/d following optimization of MR10 and a workover campaign, which is expected to get under way when a suitable weather window arises.
During the 15-month project, the jackupEnsco 107 drilled four new production wells.
