TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norkse oljeselskap expects subsea infrastructure to be installed this summer for the BoaKamNorth project in the Norwegian North Sea.
This involves adding a new subsea manifold tied back to the Boa field manifold, as part of the Alvheim area improved oil recovery project.
The facilities will be hooked up to the existingAlvheim infrastructure, with production from BoaKamNorth set to start in mid-2016.
Det norske and its Alvheim license partners have also decided to developViper-Kobra, comprising two small discoveries in the Alvheim area, containing estimated recoverable reserves of 9 MMboe.
Drilling of the two production wells should begin toward end-1Q 2016, with first oil slated for the end of next year.
Later this summer, pipelay should get under way between the Det norske-operatedIvar Aasen field center and the Edvard Grieg complex in the central Norwegian North Sea.
Construction of the Ivar Aasen platform topsides is around 70% complete at the yard in Singapore. The crane cabin and crane boom were lifted in place on top of the main module early last month. Pipe fabrication and installation continues, and cable pulling has started.
Onshore commissioning is due to start this fall with the topsides scheduled to be mechanically complete by year-end. Sail-away to Norway is expected to follow next spring.
