ST. MICHAEL, Minnesota – Chukar Waterjet has introduced an ultra-high-pressure waterjet system for work class ROVs. The SUB-JET 3000 can work at depths to 3,000 m (10,000 ft), cut steel up to 250 mm (9.8 in) thick and remove coatings, corrosion, and marine growth.

The 100-hp SUB-JET 3000 can produce 7.5 liters per minute (2 gpm) of 3,900 bar (56,565 psi) pressure water for cutting and blasting. It carries 35 l (9.2 gal) of abrasive on the skid standard.

The ROV provides hydraulic oil to power the waterjet intensifiers and operate attached tooling, 24 Vdc (300 watts) for control power, and a fiber-optic data link to the topsides controller.

The system requires 150 to 200 lpm (40 to 53 gpm) of hydraulic oil to run at full capacity but can be operated at lower output if the auxiliary oil is not available from any given ROV. The system weighs about 500 kg (1,102 lb) on the deck and is neutrally buoyant with 35 l of abrasive.
