ASKER, Norway – TGS has industry funding for a new 6,000-sq km (2,316-sq mi) multi-client 3D seismic survey, to be acquired in partnership with PGS.

Data acquisition, using PGS’ GeoStreamer technology, will start this summer over the eastern Newfoundland Orphan basin and offshore south Labrador.

PGS will perform pre-processing of the initial GeoStreamer signal with TGS undertaking data processing. Final data should be issued in mid-2016.

“This project will provide valuable data to exploration companies to further de-risk prospects in the areas of interest previously released byCanada’s Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board,” said Katja Akentieva, TGS senior vice president Western Hemisphere.
