Lloyd’s to provide wide-ranging Johan Sverdrup risk analysis

Lloyd’s Register Consulting has a framework agreement to provide risk management support to companies involved in developing the Statoil-operated Johan Sverdrup development in the Norwegian North Sea.

LONDON – Lloyd’s Register Consulting (LRC) has a framework agreement to provide risk management support to companies involved in developing the Statoil-operated Johan Sverdrup development in the Norwegian North Sea.

LRC will provide a range of services related to risk assessment and safety studies. The award is an extension of the company’s collaboration with Aker Solutions from the initialJohan Sverdrup front-end engineering and design phase.

In the detailed engineering phase, the risk assessment study will cover dedicated HAZID workshops to identify and analyze major hazards. It will include in-depth risk analysis relating to the field center, processing platform, living quarter platform,drilling platform, and riser platform.

The work will also oversee key areas including installation, hookup, and commissioning. Additionally, LRC will assess risks to personnel and assist designs for accidental loads.
