KONGSBERG, Norway – Kongsberg Maritime has released for commercial application its GeoSwath shallow-water multi-beam echo sounder. The GS4 all-in-one package has a new version of the GS+ software and is available to GeoSwath Plus users.
The technology completed a six-month test in the Douro River of Portugal by user Lagoa do Ruivo Survey prior to release.
GS4 functionality includes calibration, and DTM and side scan mosaic production and visualization.
Recent surveys using the software include high-resolution bathymetry for subsea cable rout planning, a search for containers lost at sea during a storm, monitoring of the seabed surrounding a pipeline, and evaluation of dredged volumes.
