HOUSTON – BP has contracted FMC Technologies (NYSE: FTI) to supply subsea production systems for the Shah Deniz Stage 2 project, 100 km (62 mi) south of Baku in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea.

The equipment will serve Well Clusters 3-5.

The $297-million order is in addition toFMC’s initial contract for Well Clusters 1-2, which BP placed in 2014.

Tore Halvorsen, FMC’s senior vice president, Subsea Technologies, said “Our close cooperation on this project has accelerated the transition to the manufacturing stage and enabled us to reduce the lead time delivering the project.”
