Statoil signs Heis-Tek for Johan Sverdrup elevators

Heis-Tek has signed a frame agreement with Statoil to supply industrial traction elevators during 2016-17 for the Johan Sverdrup project in the Norwegian North Sea.

BERGEN, Norway – Heis-Tek has signed a frame agreement with Statoil to supply industrial traction elevators during 2016-17 for the Johan Sverdrup project in the Norwegian North Sea.

Value of the order is SEK 164 million ($19.77 million).

Heis-Tek will deliver elevators to service the four living quarters, riser, drilling and process platforms. The frame agreement also carries options for elevators for Statoil’sJohan Castberg project in the Barents Sea; Snorre 2040 on the Snorre field in the North Sea; and Peregrino offshore Brazil.

Alimak acquired Heis-Tek, based in Norway’s Hordaland region, last June as part of the strategy to expand its product and service for industrial vertical access solutions. Alimak’s specialty is rack-and-pinion based technology.
