MOSCOW – Rosneft has produced the one-millionth ton of crude oil from the northern tip of the Chayvo field offshore Sakhalin Island, eight months after drilling of the first extended-reach well was completed from the onshore drilling site.
The company’s RN‑Shelf‑Far East subsidiary is currently producing oil from two ER wells with a respective MD of 10,825 m (35,515 ft) and 9,923 m (32,555 ft).
Production is transported by oil tankers from the De-Kastri terminal in Khabarovsk Territory. To date, 10 shipments have been dispatched to the Asia/Pacific region, with associated petroleum gas marketed to Far East-based consumers.
Rosneft plans a cluster of five wells from the onshore drilling site in the near term, delivering at the maximum rate of up to 2 MMt/yr by 2017.
