OTC 2015: Petrobras to focus on presalt technologies

HOUSTONPetrobras will feature audiovisual and interactive content about its technologies for presalt exploration and production during OTC at NRG Park in Houston.

On Monday, May 4, Brazil’s Minister of Mines and Energy, Eduardo Braga, and Petrobras directors Solange Guedes, Hugo Repsold and Roberto Moro will visit the company’s booth.

On Tuesday, May 5, Director Solange Guedes will give a talk on Pre-Salt: What Has Been Done So Far and What is Coming Ahead, from 12:15 to 13:45. From 9:30 to 12:00, there will be a technical session about pre-salt, called Pre-Salt: 8-Year Journey from the Wildcat Well to more than Half-million Barrels per Day. This session, which will be opened by the company’s executive manager for the Libra Area, Anelise Lara, will be divided into seven presentations, all given by Petrobras technicians and executives. In the afternoon, the work undertaken in the Sapinhoá and Lula Nordeste presalt fields will be examined in a session called Sapinhoá Lula NE – Project Challenges & Lessons Learned.

On Wednesday, May 6, company technicians will present their work regarding safety processes in offshore operations, during the Offshore Process Safety: Past, Present and Future session, from 14:00 to 16:30.

Petrobras is exhibiting at booth 1241.

As well as the conference, the company will participate in two parallel events. The advisor to Petrobras’ CEO on local content and executive coordinator of the Program to Mobilize the National Oil and Gas Industry (Prominp), Paulo Alonso, will give a talk during a seminar called Providing goods and services for the oil industry in Brazil: opportunities for foreign suppliers in a new scenario, which is aimed at attracting foreign companies to Brazil. This event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Houston on Monday, May 4, starting at 14:00. Petrobras’ market development manager in the Materials area, Ronaldo Martins, will also be speaking at the event.

In addition, Paulo Alonso will be giving a presentation on Marine Demands for 2020-2030: Local Content and Opportunities in a New Environment during an event organized by the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce (Bratecc), on May 6, from 7:00 to 10:30, at The Westin Galleria. At the same event, Petrobras’ executive manager for Exploration and Production Services, Cristina Pinho, will be addressing the topic of A New Business Model Applied to Upstream Logistics.
