AGR to drill ultra-deepwater well offshore the Comoros

AGR and SP Offshore Energy Services have entered into a memorandum of understanding under which AGR will provide a range of exploration services and perform drilling of an ultra-deepwater well between Mozambique and the Comoros Islands.

STRAUME, Norway – AGR and SP Offshore Energy Services have entered into a memorandum of understanding under which AGR will provide a range of exploration services and perform drilling of an ultra-deepwater well between Mozambique and the Comoros Islands.

SP Offshore, via its subsidiary SPO E&P (Comoros) SARL, works exclusively for Western Energy (USA) and Safari Petroleum (Jersey) in the territorial waters ofthe Comoros.

Western Energy East Africa (Western) and Safari Petroleum Indian Ocean Ltd. (Safari) secured a production-sharing contract for blocks 38, 39, and 40 in the Comoros in March 2014.

They plan a program of exploration studies including seismic interpretation, basin modeling, and resource assessments, followed by drilling of an ultra-deepwater exploration well.
