PSA permits Wintershall well in northern North Sea

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given Wintershall the approval to drill the Crossbill prospect in the northern North Sea using the Transocean Arctic semisubmersible rig.

KASSEL, Germany– The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given Wintershall the approval to drill the Crossbill prospect in the northern North Sea using the Transocean Arcticsemisubmersible rig.

The location for well 35/12-5 is in 353 m (1,158 ft) of water 10 km (6.2 mi) southeast ofSkarfjell 35/9-7 and 12 km (7.5 mi) south-southwest of the Gjøa platform.

Drilling is scheduled to start in May and is expected to last 57 days. If drilled, a side track would last 113 days.
