WEST PERTH, Australia – The final two wells in the Manora oil field development in the Gulf of Thailand have been drilled to total depth, according to partner Tap Oil.

The MNA-11 producer well in the Central Fault Block (CFB) should enter production this week.

It intersected net oil pay of 98 m (321 ft) in 600 reservoir sands, the highest of any of the field’s seven producers. This confirms operator Mubadala’s geological model of thicker sands in the center of the CFB.

The MNA-13 water injector is online and has started injecting water to support production from the East Fault Block.

All 11Manora development wells have been completed and the drilling rig has moved off location.

Since the field came onstream last November, production has been consistently above 15,000 b/d, on occasion exceeding 16,000 b/d.

Following a review, the partners have agreed that two other wells (one producer and one injector) are no longer required, as peak production can be maintained with seven producers as opposed to the originally planned 10.
