SINGAPORE – KrisEnergy has awarded PT Synergy Engineering the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Lengo gas development offshore East Java.

Additionally, Java Offshore is responsible for geophysical and geotechnical surveys at the platform site and along the proposed platform-to-shore pipeline route terminating at an onshore reception location.

The FEED will define the facilities needed for the ensuing engineering, procurement, construction, and installation bidding phase, while the surveys, including a geotechnical borehole survey at the location of the production facilities, will provide site-specific data for the next phase of engineering.

Lengo is in the Bulu production-sharing contract in the East Java basin. Water depths range from 50-60 m (164-197 ft). The government-approved development plan comprises four wells, an unmanned wellhead platform, and a 20-in., 65-km (40-mi) export pipeline transporting the gas to shore.

KrisEnergy expects production to begin roughly 24 months after the joint-venture partners declare their final investment decision. The field is expected to produce 70 MMcf/d (2 MMcm/d) at plateau.

The company sees this as the first phase of a new gas aggregation hub offshore East Java, where it also operates the adjacent East Muriah andSakti PSCs.
