Statoil awards Visund, Troll B subsea work to Ocean Installer

Statoil has awarded Ocean Installer additional work with amendments for umbilical marine installation at the Visund field and for riser replacement at the Troll B field in the North Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil has awarded Ocean Installer additional work with amendments for umbilical marine installation at the Visund field and for riser replacement at the Troll B field in the North Sea. The work will be executed under the SLMP Marine Installation Contract.

The work scope at Visund includes load out and transport of new umbilical riser, installation of new umbilical riser system including vertical anchor and mud mat for supporting umbilical termination assembly. The work includes all activities necessary for installation of the pliant wave umbilical riser.

The work scope atTroll B includes subsea disconnection and removal of existing riser, installation and subsea tie-in of new riser and transport, and offload of existing riser at the Stord base. The content of the work includes all activities necessary for replacement of the riser.

Ocean Installer will use theNormand Vision construction support vessel for both projects. The water depth in both areas is approximately 330 m (1,083 ft).

Visund field is in the Tampen area, in blocks 34/7 and 34/8, 140 km (87 mi) west of Sognefjorden and 22 km (13.5 mi) northeast of the Gullfaks field. Troll is about 80 km (50 mi) west of Bergen.

The Troll project is scheduled to start in June 2015 and the Visund umbilical offshore operations are scheduled for August 2015.
