Origin resumes drilling at Yolla field in Bass Strait

The jackup West Telesto has spudded the Yolla-5 production well offshore Victoria for the BassGas Joint Venture.

LANG LANG, Australia – The jackup West Telesto has spudded the Yolla-5 production well offshore Victoria for the BassGas Joint Venture.

Prognosed total MD of the well is around 3,280 m (10,760 ft).

According to operator Origin Energy, the Yolla-5 and Yolla-6 wells will form part of Stage 2 of theBassGas mid-life enhancement project.

The program follows the installation of export compression and condensate pumping units late last year on theYolla platform in the Bass Strait, 140 km (87 mi) offshore Kilcunda.

All the activities are designed to extend production from the Yolla field through the BassGas production facility at Lang Lang, Victoria.
