CALGARY, Canada – Iona Energy says the E.ON-led joint venture continues progressing solutions for the Huntington oil field development in the UK central North Sea.

These include gas disposal and propane removal processing to mitigate against future outages in the Cats Area Transmission System that transports the field’s gas to the UK.

The partners are also considering further investments to increase production and extend the life of the field. Iona has included in its 2015 and 2016 budget provision for a new well to optimize field recovery, either a side tracked water injector or a new producer.

E.ON reports that following repair work on the CATS riser platform normal service is expected to resume at Huntington in the second half of March.

In the UK northern North Sea, Iona’s operated Orlando tieback to the Ninian complex remains on track for first production during 4Q 2016.

Latest capex estimate for the project is $215 million for 2015-2016. Iona foresees initial production from the field of around 10,500 b/d.
