GALVESTON, Texas – Deepsea Technologies Inc. (DTI) is showcasing the capabilities of its diverless bend stiffener connector (DBSC) on the exhibition floor of the Topsides, Platforms & Hulls Conference & Exhibition held at the Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston, Texas, from Feb. 3-5, 2015.

The company says that the DBSC is a patented, field proven product that is used to connect bend stiffeners to flexible risers and umbilicals to I or J-tubes on offshore platforms, TLPs, spars, FPSOs, and other permanently moored or fixed offshore structures.

DTI says that the connection can be made by any work-class ROV without the need for special tooling. It can also be configured to be installed automatically without either ROV or diver intervention. The design of the DBSC is easily scalable to accommodate a wide range of loading conditions. A simple and robust design makes offshore installation quick and uncomplicated, the company says.

DTI officials add the more than 70 DBSCs have been deployed for various projects in the US GoM, Brazil, West Africa and Southeast Asia.
