MUMBAITechnip has completed installation of the 8,200-metric ton (9,038 ton) HRD process platform for Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd. (ONGC) with Technip’s Unideck system. It was the first time the system has been deployed in Indian waters.

The platform was installed in theHeera field redevelopment offshore India.

The integrated topsides float over installation system is designed for difficult sea conditions. It performs installation in a single operation by lowering the topsides through a system of jacks.

The HRD project started in 2013, when ONGC awarded Technip, in a consortium with AFCONS Infrastructure Ltd. and TH Heavy Engineering Berhad, the €220 million ($249 million) HRD process platform contract.

The topsides were designed by Technip in India for the floatover installation, with the support of Technip in France.
