Schneider to supply E-Houses to Kaombo FPSO

Saipem has contracted Schneider Electric to design, fabricate, and pre-commission two technical buildings in support of the Kaombo FPSO project offshore Angola.

RUEIL MALMAISON, France –Saipem has contracted Schneider Electric to design, fabricate, and pre-commission two technical buildings in support of the Kaombo FPSO project offshore Angola.

Each of the two technical buildings (E-House) modules will be 30 m (90 ft) long by 20 m (66 ft) high with two stories, and weighs approximately 1,300 tons.

Design engineering and project management will come from Schneider Electric’s Asia-Pacific E-House Engineering Center in Brisbane, Australia. The construction, equipment integration, and testing will be at an offsite yard in Batam, Indonesia. Final integration of theFPSO will take place in Singapore.

The delivery of the first technical building forKaombo project will be in early 2016 for first oil expected in 2017.
