SBM updates floater construction program

MONACO – Construction continues in China on the finance-leased FPSOs Cidade de Maricá and Cidade de Saquarema, according to SBM Offshore.

The company’s charter contract for bothvessels on fields offshore Brazil includes an initial period of 20 years with extension options.

Both double-hull vessels will be moored in around 2,300 m (7,544 ft) of water, with capacity to each store 1.6 MMbbl.

In both cases the topsides facilities, weighing around 22,000 tons, will be able to produce 150,000 b/d of well fluids, with associated gas treatment capacity of 6 MMcm/d (200 MMcf/d) and water injection capacity of 200,000 b/d.

In the Campos basin, the FPSOMarlim Sul ceased operating for Petrobras after more than 10 years in service. Decommissioning activities are under way and should be completed during 2Q. The vessel has been sold for scrapping.

Three large turrets for thePrelude FLNG and Ichthys projects offshore northwest Australia and Quad 204 west of Shetland in the UK are progressing on schedule, SBM adds.

Fabrication work for Prelude FLNG is nearing completion in Dubai, while integration of the Quad 204 turret with the vessel continues in South Korea, with delivery imminent.

Engineering and procurement has been completed for the Ichthys turret while fabrication continues at the yard in Singapore. Delivery is expected during the second half of 2015.
