VBMS to link Ravn to German North Sea platform

Wintershall has contracted VBMS for subsea works associated with the Ravn field development in the Danish North Sea.

PAPENDRECHT, the Netherlands – Wintershall has contracted VBMS for subsea works associated with the Ravn field development in the Danish North Sea.

The scope includes installation, burial, survey, and pull-ins of an 18.5-km (11.5-mi) control umbilical that will connect the Ravn platform to Wintershall’s A6-A facility in the German North Sea.

VBMS, the joint venture between VolkerWessels and Boskalis, expects to perform the work in July and August, using its installation vesselNdurance.

Last August, the contractor completed a tieback for the same operator of theL8-P4 platform to the L6-B facility in the Dutch sector.
